Summer Sermon Series:

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

This summer, from June 12th - August 28th, we are taking you out to the ball game each Sunday. And we might even buy you some peanuts and Cracker Jacks! After having delved into the book of Ecclesiastes in May, we are now in a summer sermon series on the minor prophets. We opened the series up with a skit inspired by "Who's on First?" called "Who's on the Team?" For this creative series, each of our prophets on our Minor League Prophet Team will play a specific role on the baseball field. Who's on first and where will the rest be? Well, you'll have to join us each week to find out! And we believe you'll find that the message each minor prophet has to communicate will be messages that are relevant for the times we're living in today.

For June, our team members highlighted and sermon messages were:

Minor Prophet #1: Hosea -"You're Killing Me, Smalls!"

Minor Prophet #2: Joel - "Keep Your Eye on the Ball"

Minor Prophet #3: Amos - "Three Strikes and You're Out?"

Join us each week in July and August to hear the rest

and find out where each player will be on the baseball field!

No matter what team you root for, you are welcome here.

It’ll be a summer to remember and we’re going to knock this one out of the park together!

Sunday worship starts at 9:30am each week. Whether in-person or virtually, we'll see you soon!

Relay for Life

On May 16th, Pastor Donald, the Running Relayer/Cross Country Clergy ran 80 miles total in 18 1/2 hours to raise money for cancer research. And, collectively, we went 140 miles altogether with those who came out to walk or run! And, as a whole, in preparation for our community's June 11th Relay For Life event, our Montville UMC/Boonton UMC team raised over $4300 and were the #3 team in terms of most funds raised! And our community as a whole raised over $47,000 together! Can you help us to get to $50,000? The giving webpage will be open until the end of July.

Ongoing Opportunities

Hungry to Whole

PXL_20211006_232955282 copy.jpg

Inspired by “The Daniel Plan” book and John Wesley’s Holy Clubs, Hungry to Whole is grounded in Psalm 107:9 – “God satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (NIV). Our prayer is that those who come hungry each week would leave whole in more than one way.

In May, we welcomed Grant Bossard from NJ Hope & Healing one week to lead us through an important conversation on mental health in addition to Eddie Brigati one week to teach us about what we have to learn from our Native American brothers and sisters.

In June, we heard from Dr. Frank and John Michaud from New Pathway about Bioregulation Therapy (BRT), one of the newest innovations in the therapy world, and then from Megan Stypulkoski, a vegetable artist and herbalist who is doing great and innovative artwork with lots of wisdom to share in the realm of health and wholeness.

We are taking a break in July and August, but will start back in September!

By the way, would you be interested in going through an 8-week intensive curriculum called “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality?” Although this is something that will likely be separate from our Hungry to Whole gatherings, it is in line with our mission and we hope to host it to the broader community in 2023. The commitment is two hours a week (for every in-person session), with homework for participants in between.
